To me this face tells it all. I actually took this picture this past weekend as we were putting laminate flooring in our bedroom. However I think this face goes well with what my little egghead did today. This crazy little man decided that it was a god idea to play with eggs. After he got a dozen eggs out of the refrigerator( which his older brother so sweetly left open), he decided to practice how to run for a touchdown in the house. He neatly tucked the carton of eggs under his arm and was off. The main problem with this scenario is that my son is top heavy and his head and body don't work well together. About eight strides from the kitchen he went down and the eggs flew up in the air and showered down on him, the new floors , and rugs. I will be honest- at the time I real didn't find it funny. I had a splitting headache and I really hate eggs. I find them quite disgusting, especially when they are uncooked. However now I can sit here and laugh about it. I smile thinking that had I had a video camera handy we could have quite a comical video. I laugh as I think of years from now when we will say " Honey do you remember when....." I feel that in life no matter how upset or frustrated you may get when silly little things like this happen, if you sit back and breath deep you can always find a little comedy in it. Old friends

Sharing the Love
Jaeden, Drew, and Emily
Kicking back and LaughingThe kids and I had a lovely time yesterday. One of my friends from college and her beautiful little boy came down to NC for a visit. It was so wonderful to see them, it had been almost 2 years since the last time we saw them. As it was cold and windy we decided that indoor festivities were in order for the day. We went to an indoor childrens activity center called Monkey Joe's, that is filled to the brim with inflatable fun for the kids to play on. Needless to say, the kids had a blast. They ran, and bounced, and slid, and jumped and just had a ball. I was so glad to see that the time apart hadn't affected their friendship. It was so good to get to see Ashley and Jaeden. She was such an important part of my life in college. It was the first time in my life that I had been on my own away from my parents and my sister. I guess we hit it off when we found out that we were from the same little town in Vermont. What are the odds? I guess the truth is that seeing Ashley reminded me how much I hate that all my really good friends live so far away. Ohio, Vermont, Colorado. Whether it is a friend that you physically grew up with, going through the tough times of adolescence with, or a friend that you emotionally grew with and matured with. I miss having that girlfriend to stay up half the night talking to. One to cry about boys with while we ate ice cream or drink a peach daiquiri with when we have had a bad day. We grew up, got married, had kids , and went our separate ways. Although we still talk to our friends, and love them just the same as we did years before, we somehow lose that carefree ability that we had when we younger. We are adults with adult problems and worries and and lives. If only the two worlds could exist together. One in which we could be wives and mothers and still be allowed to be young and impetuous. As mothers, wives, and career women, we find that the little time we have for ourselves are taken up by playdates, activities and homework. Our new friends are the other soccer and t-ball moms-which is fine and great, but it is not the same as the lifelong friends of adolescence, or the carefree friends of college. My point is that I love my life, but seeing Ash reminded me how much I miss my friends, my me friends.

Quickly melting
My handsome middle man, he was the only one who wanted to play in the every quickly melting snow. He had fun anyways.
A tree off the deck with snow on it.
This along with the picture of Drew are my favorites of the day

We had yet another snow this past weekend. It was a beautiful wet snow and would have been so much fun to play in had it not melted so quickly. Unlike the last snow which hung around for a few days, this snow left as quickly as it came. This snow hugged every tree branch in the yard. reminded me of the snows I had in Ohio growing up. It was such a shame to see it melt so quickly. My favorite pictures of the day are the one of my Drew bear and the one of my Earnhardt mailbox. That mailbox holds such a special place in my heart. I know I am not the only one that feels that way. Is it silly that an old and desperately in need of a paint job mailbox could evoke such a feeling of warmth and family to sweep over me? Maybe it is. Room 1 down..Rest of the House to Go

Andrew and his Spideys.
Alex and his Elmo slippers. He wants to wear them everywhere- I mean everywhere!
This is Alex and Kota. All he says about Kota is"Bite-Bite"He loves Kota.

As all of you know we are looking to get our house on the market sometime this spring. Now begins the massive spring cleaning and purging. We have way too much stuff in our house. A family of five in a house as small as ours means one thing. We are way too cluttered and crowded. Like a plant we have simply overgrown our pot and we need to be replanted. So this past week I have tried to start to purge the kids rooms. The boys was the first , and I am proud to say I feel I actually accomplished something. The closet is clean and organized , there are no toys under the bed, I have packed what we don't need and have given to Goodwill what can be given. With two boys in one small room along with all their toys, there was not even room to play. We had to take their train table out of there for now- don't worry Thomas and all his friends are safe and sound at Mum and Pops. The big problem with all that I accomplished in their room is that they have a big problem with keeping it that way. Alex feels it necessary to pull all the clothes out of the drawers. Both he and Drew think that you can not lay with a truck unless the entire crate of trucks and cars are dumped out. I have absolutely no idea how I will manage to have a house on the market with these crazy boys around. Next on the list- Emily's room. Her room should be a little easier- the key is to keep the boys out of it. Maybe I should go buy a padlock to keep them out. Maybe one for both doors......

Sick Snow days
As you all know we had some snow down our way. As this state is not equipped for the snow we had three snow days. Yep that is right three snow days, all over 4-6 inches of snow. It was a disaster . It was Wednesday before the plows got into the neighborhoods. It snowed Friday night/ Saturday morning and it wasn't until Wednesday that they began to clear the neighborhoods in either the Asheboro/ Greensboro area (where we were) or the Raleigh area . I personally find that crazy! Anyways... due to missing three days of school my daughter now has to give up three Saturdays to school. This week two Saturdays in May. How crummy is that. It kind of takes the fun out of snow days doesn't it? I am sorry to say that we didn't get to enjoy her snow days too much as both of the boys and I have had a stomach bug (Thanks Billy). Thankfully I haven't been as bad off as the boys, and hopefully Emily will continue to remain healthy. She did return to school this morning- on a one hour delay. Of course on her way into the car she fell on the ice and came down really hard on her chin. So after quite a few tears were shed and some ibuprofen taken I dropped her at school. She was already complaining of it hurting to open her jaw. I think she was probably so excited to see her teacher and friends that she probably forgot all about it. I got to go home and clean up the baby his seat, and my car which for the second day were all covered in vomit- all while feeling the need to do it myself. Gotta love it!!
